Festival

Lunigiana International Music Festival

Set across the historic territory Lunigiana in Tuscany, the Lunigiana International Music Festival was co-founded by Chantal Balestri in 2018, and she is acting as Artistic Director. The Festival brings together young musicians from around the world in a setting that combines renowned musicians as mentors with performances, competitions, seminars and many musical and recreational activities.

Artistic vision

An inclusive and dynamic space where high-level music is accessible, an international community can grow, and meaningful connections between artists, audiences, and the territory can be created.

Development Program

MusiKenya

MusiKenya was co-founded in 2021 by Chantal Balestri, who serves as President. Developed in partnership with UNESCO in Kenya and Embu University, the project is dedicated to establishing structured music training and professional development for music educators in the region, strengthening local musical communities.


The project is currently entering a new phase of development, with a focus on securing further funding to ensure its long-term sustainability.

Leadership

The Global Leaders Institute recognizes artistic leadership and impact

Chantal Balestri served as a fellow of the Global Leaders Institute in 2021, and since then she has been mentor for the Innovative Artistic Residencies in West Palm Beach (2022) and she led the development of their first residency in Italy, hosted in Lunigiana in 2023.


Her work reflects an ongoing commitment to exploring the role of music as a driver of social and cultural impact. In recognition of this collaboration, she received a Certificate of Appreciation issued by the GLI in collaboration with Harvard University and partner institutions.

Community

World Piano Teachers Association

New York chapter

Chantal Balestri served as President of the New York Piano Chapter of the World Piano Teachers Association from 2019 to 2021, a vital hub for piano educators and performers across the region. During this period, she contributed her expertise to support and strengthen the chapter’s mission of advancing piano pedagogy and performance, particularly during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
